SYRIA: US CLAIM TOP AL QAEDA LEADER KILLED IN RAID

The United States has claimed that a top al Qaeda leader was killed during the US raid in Syria and that an attack in Iraq was planned to be carried out by terrorists. Abu Ghadiyah (Badran Turki Hishan Al Mazidih) led a network that assisted many foreign al Qaeda operatives into Iraq from Syria.

The attack on the Syrian compound follows many requests by the US to Syria to hand over the terrorist leader, something which Syrian officials failed to do even though they knew where Abu Ghadiyah was.
